I had to think about if I would use an existing magazine or create my own. I decided I should make my own magazine as using another magazine I would have to mimic the style of the magazine so that to fits with the style of the magazine. Making a new magazine enables me to create a style for my magazine and come up with the

cover construction myself.

I had to think about what to call my magazine and as my film will be independent I should make an independent magazine. All the magazines I have looked at have had really short names and tell you that it is about films in the name. I therefore thought about these ideas:

Movie Weekly

Film Time

Cinema Crazy

Square Eyed

I have decided to call my magazine “Square Eyed” as you could tell that it will be a film magazine and it is a fun name and everyone will remember.

Location Scouting

I thought about the different locations I could use to film my teaser trailer, I visited lots of different places to find out which location would be the best to film my trailer in .


I had to find places that gave off a horror vibe and were secluded.

Treatment

Joan and her daughter, Megan are involved in a tragic car accident. The car is flipped over into a lake trapping the pair inside. Mum and daughter die. Daughter feels her death was stollen by the press as the acident received a lot of press attention, and she felt that she couldnt “pass over”. After her funeral the spirit of the young girl never leaves and haunts the graveyard.

A group of college photography students take a trip to the hunted graveyard and one by one they start to disappear with something personal from each of them left behind on a gravestone. The students try to escape from the graveyard but only one manages to get out. However her celebration is short lived as during her escape she ends up getting hit by a car herself.

Silence of the Lambs Promotional Tactics

Silence of the Lambs is a horror film released in 1991. I decided to do some promotional research on the film.

It was distributed by Orion Pictures an independent American company, I would like my trailer to be from an independent source as well so doing some research into this film would be beneficial to me.

I looked at the posters released for the film, the magazine cover the film featured on and the official facebook page for the film.
